I had the need for a new pair of glasses thrust upon me. Now my nose must adjust to new pads while my eyes adapt to clearer vision. I had the need to get a new computer thrust upon me and all the other changes that go with new technology. I am told that Windows 10 is better than my new computer crashes and I spend an afternoon getting the updates to correct my new operating system. I cringe when Facebook changes and I have to learn how to do stuff in the new and improved website. Yuck!
When I was younger, new was exciting and adventure was around every corner. These days, I carefully look around the corner to make sure nothing scary is waiting before rounding it. I find myself watching old television programs and movies on Netflix and Hulu and on DVD when I can find them because they are preferable to the new entertainment offerings.
The good old days I know were not as good as I remember them; still I cannot help pining for what was good about them and wish that we did not throw away that part of our past when we discard what was not so good about those ancient days.
Perhaps I am becoming a vintage person. An old slightly used antique. I understand that antiques are considered very valuable.
