Once-upon-a-time people were worried that Christmas was becoming too commercialized and the spirit of Christmas was getting lost. That is no longer a problem. With retailers going out of their way to remove any reference to Christmas from the holiday and anti-christian groups bullying communities and organizations into eliminating anything related to Christ from public view, Christmas will soon be forgotten. There will be a winter holiday people celebrate just before the end of the year. Perhaps oddly enough, this might be liberating for Christians. Those of faith will be able to return the holiday to what it once was intended to be; the celebration of God coming to save his creation. Instead of a tension-filled, stressful season of meeting human expectations, Christmas might actually again become...merry.
"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'" John 8:31-32
